To set up the autotransfuser, you'll need the pleur-evac and autotransfuser. This is after you've inserted the chest tube and want to infuse the patient's blood back. |

The autotransfuser is located here. |
On the pleur-evac, close off the drainage first (or blood will come spurting out). |
Then disconnect the blue/red tubing. |

1. On the autotransfuser, make sure both tubes are shut (close both blue clips). 2. Connect blue to blue and red to red between the autotransfuser and the pleurovac. (Yes, it's that simple.) |

Remove blue cap at bottom of autotransfuser and spike the bag. This bag CAN be pressurized but make there is NO AIR IN BAG. You can pressure infuse this bag by removing it from the metal frame. |
