Admission of Patients from ED to RICU and CCU
In cases where the patient requires a unit bed but none is immediately available, the case will be called into the Bed Board as an RICU or CCU admission but will be assigned to the medical team next up for an admission.

The Official New York State serialized prescription paper will be ordered and issued by the Pharmacy Department. The paper will be safeguarded against loss, theft or unauthorized use. It will be stored in locked printers, cabinets or rooms throughout the facility. All prescriptions for controlled and noncontrolled substances generated at Elmhurst Hospital must be printed on this paper.
Orders for HIV Testing by Non-Providers
To identify HIV infection in patients seen in the Emergency Department, ambulatory care clinics, and in inpatients at Elmhurst Hospital Center, thereby promoting early medical intervention and care and reducing the progression of HIV to AIDS.
